48 civil servants under the Ministry of Defence received the Brunei Darussalam Honorary State Medal, Long Service Medal or Pingat Kerja Lama (P.K.L) in conjunction with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 79th Birthday Celebration. The Medal Presentation Ceremony took place at Bolkiah Garrison, 4th June morning.

The medals were presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence. The awarding of the P.K.L. is a recognition and appreciation for dedication and commitment throughout their service.
